Charles Lewandoski Update: September 4, 2011

From Charles:

“Hey everyone, thanks for vising the site and my Twitter and Facebook pages.  I know the news has been a little slow lately, but things haven't been slow behind the scenes.  We're working really hard on a bunch of things for the rest of the season and should have some announcements here soon.  I'm really looking forward to getting back to the racetrack.

We've gotten a lot of positive feedback on our first Video Blog last month and we're going to start doing more of those soon.  Also, I'm getting the hang of this Twitter thing and really enjoy interacting with the fans that way.  I appreciate all the support you guys have given all season long.

We will also have brand new hero cards in the next week or so.  We'll post some pics and info on how to get one here on the site as soon as they're back from the printer.

Again, thanks for all the support this season and down the road into the final stretch of the season.  I'll keep everyone posted on all the news we've got to announce in the coming days and weeks.

- Charles

Charles Lewandoski – NASCAR Nationwide Series Preview: Richmond

Charles Lewandoski will make his seventh career NASCAR Nationwide Series attempt in the Bubba Burger 250 at Richmond International Raceway in Virginia.  Lewandoski will be making his fourth start of the 2011 season at Auto Club, but will be making his second start of the season for Go Green Racing.  Lewandoski drove the NortheastMarineElectronics.com Ford for GGR to a 31 st -place finish at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in 2010 and to a 25 th -place finish at Auto Club Speedway in California.  The Bubba Burger 250 will be the 25-year-old's first-ever appearance at Auto Club Speedway.

What are your thoughts about making your first start at Richmond International Raceway?
“I have gotten some experience on all kinds of racetracks here in 2011, but I'm maybe more excited about Richmond than any of my other starts so far this year because it's getting back to the short track racing I grew up doing.  Richmond is considered a short track, but from what I've learned from other drivers and from watching video of some recent races, the place races like a combination of a bullring and a speedway.  I've become more comfortable on all types of racetracks this year, my rookie year, so going to a place that combines both disciplines of NASCAR Nationwide Series racing is something that I'm really excited about.

What is it like teaming back up with Go Green Racing for a third time in your career?
“The Go Green guys are so fun to hang out with in the shop and they're a very knowledgable group of guys, too.  They've had some great drivers in their cars this year, including Josh Wise and my buddy Danny O'Quinn, so to have a part in what they're trying to build over there at GGR is really special to me.  I can't thank (team owner) Archie St. Hilaire enough for the opportunity to run the #39 machine again.

This will be your sixth race of the season so far this year, the most starts of your career in one season.
“I have worked hard to get as much going in 2011 as I can.  I have had the opportunity to work with some great teams already this year and it's exciting to get another shot with Go Green Racing this weekend.  I know that I can get the job done in any racecar and I'm honored that owners like Archie want me in their cars this year.  I hope to continue getting the opportunities that I have obtained this season so far throughout the year.  Even though I missed a couple races, hopefully more things will come about for the rest of the season to really turn some heads.

Go Green Racing/Charles Lewandoski Auto Club Speedway Preview

(Mooresville, NC) – Charles Lewandoski will make his fifth career NASCAR Nationwide Series attempt in the Royal Purple 300 at Auto Club Speedway on Saturday, March 26 th .  Lewandoski will be making his third start of the 2011 season at Auto Club, but will be making his first start of the season for Go Green Racing.  Lewandoski drove the NortheastMarineElectronics.com Ford for GGR to a 31 st -place finish at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in 2010.  At Auto Club, Lewandoski's #39 Ford Mustang will be sponsored by Sunrise Ford of Fontana, California.  The Royal Purple 300 will be the 25-year-old's first-ever appearance at Auto Club Speedway.

What are your thoughts about making your first start at California Speedway?
“Ever since the place was built, Auto Club Speedway has been a showplace for our sport on the West Coast and it's an honor to team back up with Go Green Racing for the Royal Purple 300 there this weekend.  It's ironic that my three races so far this year have all been out West, at Phoenix, Las Vegas and now at Auto Club in California.  These tracks are a long way from the bullrings of the Northeast that I grew up on, but being able to get as much seat time in the equipment that I've been able to drive this year has been invaluable and I hope to continue the learning progression I've had this year at Auto Club Speedway.”

What is it like teaming back up with Go Green Racing in California?
“Last year, Archie St. Hilaire (team owner) approached me with an opportunity to run his car at New Hampshire and I learned a lot working with the entire GGR team.  Josh Wise has done a good job for GGR so far this season.  I just hope to use what I've learned since last year's race at New Hampshire that I ran for them and combine it with the strong efforts they've had all year with Josh to have a good, solid run in California.”

This will be your third race out of the five Nationwide races so far year, the most starts of your career in one season.
Even though I missed a couple races, I'm not that far out of the Rookie of the Year hunt, so hopefully more things will come about for the rest of the season to really turn some heads.

Bristol Update

A message from Charles about the crazy afternoon in Bristol:

“Just to clarify what happened at Bristol, I was walking around the pits just a few minutes before the race went green and was offered the ride in the #79.  I wasn't expecting to get a ride just a few minutes from the green, so I didn't have my helmet & firesuit with me at the time.  I never got in it and I know there were a bunch of reports saying I was in, but that was my buddy Chris Lawson.

“I appreciated being offered the opportunity, though.”

Charles is currently hard at work finalizing plans to compete next weekend at California Speedway.  Stay tuned for any updates, and don't forget to follow Charles on Twitter at @chalewandoski and “Like” him on Facebook at www.facebook.com/charleslewandoski .
